In regions with snow and ice they need to be about 18 inches apart and in areas with little to no snow they can be as far as 36 inches apart.

For rainy climates where gutters will handle a larger amount of water for long periods they should have a maximum distance of 18 inches apart between them. For climates where ice is a regular factor you should have gutter hangers installed closer at half the distance that we said earlier for warm weather in order to be able to support the bigger weights.
